Giardini Naxos at a glance
Giardini Naxos lies on the bay below Taormina. It is a beach town first: a seafront with lidos (Italian for beach clubs). It also has an archaeological area and museum, run by the same regional park that manages the Greek theatre and Isola Bella. In clear weather Etna rises behind the town.
Visitors use it in two ways. Some come down from Taormina for a beach day or for the museum. Others stay here and go up to Taormina by bus. This is an independent guide, not the town or park website.

Getting to and from Giardini Naxos
Buses, trains and the airport link.
From Taormina
The ASM Linea Gialla (yellow line) connects Taormina with Giardini Naxos and Trappitello, and on to Gaggi. It is a timetable service, so check departures before you rely on it for the way back in the evening.
By train
The station is called Taormina-Giardini, but it is not in the old town of Taormina. Trenitalia runs a connecting bus called Taormina Link between the station and the historic centre.
From Catania airport
Interbus advertises a direct bus between the airport and Taormina every 30 minutes. A sample departure table for 19 October 2026 lists about 70 minutes to Giardini and 85 minutes to Taormina. More in the Catania to Taormina guide.
Coast buses
The Taormina Sea Line links the station, Isola Bella, Mazzarò, Spisone, Mazzeo and Letojanni. Giardini Naxos is not on that line, so use the Linea Gialla or the train for Naxos.

The archaeological area and museum
The park tariff for the archaeological area of Naxos and the museum is €6 for adults and €3 reduced, in force since 1 January 2025.
Hours follow the season. In the second half of October the park lists 9 am to 5.45 pm, with last entry at 5 pm. Summer hours differ, so check the park's current timetable on the day. The Arsenale Navale (ancient shipyard) is shown by reservation only. That rule does not apply to the museum itself.
Park rules for all its sites: visitors under 18 enter free with proof of age, and EU citizens aged 18 to 25 pay half. Take ID with you.

Beaches and beach clubs
Two operators with published 2026 information.
| Club | Where | Published price or hours |
|---|---|---|
| W Beach Club | Viale Jannuzzo | Umbrella and 2 loungers €35 a day; cabana lounge €80; extra lounger €10 if available; up to 4 people per spot |
| W Beach Club, longer stays | Viale Jannuzzo | Beach set €210 a week or €870 a month; cabana €490 a week or €2,100 a month |
| Lido di Naxos | – | Open daily 8:30 am to 6:30 pm |
Prices at other clubs differ, and there is no single rate for the town. Swimming bans on individual stretches of coast can be issued and lifted during the year, so look for the posted notices before you get in the water. For the wider picture, including Mazzarò and Isola Bella, see the Taormina beaches guide.
A day in Giardini Naxos
A simple plan is the museum and the archaeological area in the morning, when it is cooler and the park is open, then lunch, then a lounger on the beach in the afternoon. In high summer, ask the club early about free spots, because each spot takes at most four people.
If you only have a few hours, choose either the museum or the beach. Taking the Linea Gialla back to Taormina in the evening is easy, but check the last departure before you settle into dinner.

Staying in Giardini Naxos
A base by the sea, with a bus ride to the old town.
Staying in Naxos puts you at sea level, with the beach and the seafront on foot. The link to Taormina is the Linea Gialla, which follows a timetable, so a late dinner up in the old town needs a plan for the return. Do not assume a hotel includes a transfer; ask when you book. Compare the three bases, old town, coast and Naxos, on the where to stay page.
If you want to see more of the hills, the village of Castelmola is a short trip from Taormina: Castelmola guide. For a day with a volcano view, read about Mount Etna.
